Fable of the Wappenröcke

As with creation, we have a second myth. This one continues with the origin of the eight noble families. I don't know yet if this will necessarily come into play for Uncertain Heirs, but I will have it on hand for a later story in the Earth Dog books.

The Families Eight

Then Mother looked upon Earth, and saw what else could be, and She commanded Anna to lie with Lion.

And it was that Anna, who was made in Her image, lay with Lion. And when Anna lay with Lion, she laboured, and created life. And when Anna created life, she begot Emma, who was called Woman, and Arthur, who was called Man.

Then Mother looked upon Earth, and saw what else could be, and She commanded Anna to lie with Stag.

And it was that Anna, who was made in Her image, lay with Stag. And when Anna lay with Stag, she laboured, and created life. And when Anna created life, she begot Lea, who was called Woman, and Wilhelm, who was called Man.

Then Mother looked upon Earth, and saw what else could be, and She commanded Anna to lie with Horse.

And it was that Anna, who was made in Her image, lay with Horse. And when Anna lay with Horse, she laboured, and created life. And when Anna created life, she begot Isabella, who was called Woman, and Alexavier, who was called Man.

Then Mother looked upon Earth, and saw what else could be, and She commanded Anna to lie with Wolf.

And it was that Anna, who was made in Her image, lay with Wolf. And when Anna lay with Wolf, she laboured, and created life. And when Anna created life, she begot Sara, who was called Woman, and Maximilian, who was called Man.

Then Mother looked upon Earth, and saw what else could be, and She commanded Anna to lie with Lynx.

And it was that Anna, who was made in Her image, lay with Lynx. And when Anna lay with Lynx, she laboured, and created life. And when Anna created life, she begot Bettina, who was called Woman, and Dylan, who was called Man.

Then Mother looked upon Earth, and saw what else could be, and She commanded Anna to lie with Boar.

And it was that Anna, who was made in Her image, lay with Boar. And when Anna lay with Boar, she laboured, and created life. And when Anna created life, she begot Anastasia, who was called Woman, and Nikolai, who was called Man.

Then Mother looked upon Earth, and saw what else could be, and She commanded Anna to lie with Seal.

And it was that Anna, who was made in Her image, lay with Seal. And when Anna lay with Seal, she laboured, and created life. And when Anna created life, she begot Milena, who was called Woman, and Lugwar, who was called Man.

Then Mother looked upon Man, and saw that Man could not walk with the great beasts, could not talk with the great beasts, could not sympathize with the great beasts. And Mother bid Man to burke the lesser beasts, to flay the lesser beasts, to tan the lesser beasts, to venerate the lesser beasts, to wear the lesser beasts. And when Man did these things, Mother commanded Man to change, and it was so.
