The unveiling

It's finally done!

For those of you who've been seeing it on my Twitter feed, you know that this is the finished cover for Cabover Cabaret, my next short story due to be released tentatively 10 February 2016.

In this serial, we return to Arthurfield, WV, my crossroads for the preternatural. Here we have Reggy, a weretiger who's survived more than enough centuries to make him cynical, and yet he has found ways to remain jovial enough. His newest partner, Thomas, just started working for Discreet movers, a company that specializes in the needs of the preternatural community. Together, they'll be in for one hell of an evening in terms of weird and unusual events.

This one has definitely been a labour of love, with many a rewrite, many a cry, and many a "How the crap do I make this thing shorter—it's already 16,000 words!" Well, that last one didn't turn out the way I wanted, but that's okay. The pacing, according to my beta readers, is great enough that they didn't notice the length. I'd call that a win.

As to its release, Cabover Cabaret will be the fourth Appalachian Dream Tale, and will be available through multiple vendors, such as Amazon Kindle, Smashwords, Kobo, Nook, iBooks, etc. As the author, I ask that—if you can—please make your purchase through Smashwords, as they offer the best return for authors as far as royalties are concerned. I know it may not seem like much, but that kind of incentive helps self-publishing authors like myself stay committed to their craft, maintain their resources, and renew their websites. So thank you in advance, and I hope to have the pre-orders up soon for you folks!

Party on, Wayne! :)

Mark your calendars

Comeuppance has a publication date!

On Friday, February 12th, I will publish Comeuppance to Amazon.com and Smashwords (and it's subsequent distribution branches).

Please check back here until then for some goodies I'll be putting out soon!

After a premonition warns her of a great, rising evil, Lady Hurst knows she has to do something – but to fight evil on the side of good, she must first do a great evil. As the resident witch doctor of Arthurfield, WV, she is tasked with keeping her role in the world as neutral as possible.

So when a grieving mother comes calling with her ghostly son, Jacob, in tow, Lady Hurst accepts the contract to exact revenge. Her problem now, though, is that Jacob has taken up residence in Lady Hurst's townhouse, and he's equally eager to do his murderer in. Should Jacob become corporeal before Lady Hurst can complete her contract, she may find the stakes are higher than she can handle . . .

Evening Hallow is now available for pre-order!

Whew! What a tireless two weeks I've had, getting Evening Hallow finished and ready for upload to Amazon, and also recoding Thoroughbred to include a sample -- that's right, and if you've bought Thoroughbred in the past, you should be able to sync your Kindle for the updated version! :)

I'm so very, very excited to have this next short story ready on time. I wanted to publish it on the anniversary of Thoroughbred, but it looks like Evening Hallow will be able to come out a little bit sooner -- just in time for Valentine's Day!

Also, I've taken things one step further -- Thoroughbred is available now through Smashwords, and Evening Hallow is available for pre-order there, too. Now those of you who don't have Kindle, but have other readers, can purchase copies, as well.

I hope you all enjoy! And please, if you love what you read, consider leaving feedback on both Amazon and Smashwords. Thank you!
